If you’ve been to, or intend to visit the GRA Graduation Show 2011, we hope you experience this third-floor piece by Unfold fave Reed van Brunschot. You can call us biased if you will, but we’ve known Reed since she was a creative sales talent at the Amsterdam Weekly. She dared to quit that role and switch to an art degree at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and over the past four years, she’s wowed us with her creative and humorous installations and video works. She was also responsible for Unfold‘s only video poster, and has helped to spread word about us throughout the Rietveld ranks and even further into Amsterdam’s artistic world.
Now she’s come through it all, and we’re pleased to say that her final exam piece will blow you away. If it doesn’t blow away first. Following on from a series of works that have experimented with collapsibility, she’s engineered an inflatable birthday party, comprised of only thin sheets of sewn-together plastic and an industrial pump. It’s also on an automatic timer, so don’t be alarmed if you see it crumpled on the floor.

Alongside the graduation show, she’s also just launched her official website.
