For the third year in a row, the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and De Brakke Grond will stage the unique Rietveld UnCut. Part performance, part installation and part interactive artwork, Rietveld UnCut places the students at the mercy of the audience and of this year’s theme: ‘The Living Object’.

This shall lead the participating artists to investigate the relationship between humans and other objects, and the influence of materials on an artist. How can you bring the (im)possibilities of materials into new dimensions? What does this say about the soul of an artist?

While fulfilling these facets, the show provides the artists the opportunity to both experiment and interact with a real audience away from academic surroundings.
